JS Juniors planning for the future thanks to partnership with Ravenscroft

JS Juniors is pushing forward with exciting plans for the future after securing a three year sponsorship deal with Ravenscroft.

The minis section of Jersey Scottish FC was renamed JS Juniors ahead of the 2018 season and Ravenscroft was the principal sponsor for both the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons.

“Ravenscroft’s support from our very first days has been incredible. This ongoing support has given us the opportunity to push ahead with our plans and encourage youngsters to get involved and stay involved with a smile on their faces and a ball at their feet. Even though this season has been disrupted, the enthusiasm and dedication of the coaches, the boys and their parents hasn’t wavered and we’re looking forward to what we can achieve now that we have long-term support from Ravenscroft,” said head coach James Scott.

In their first season, JS Juniors had 16 boys with three coaches and travelled to Guernsey to compete in a tournament. Last season, player numbers increased to 38 with six coaches and the team was invited to play at a tournament in Italy, which was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid. This season, the numbers have increased again with 61 boys and nine coaches.

“We want to control how quickly we grow. It is really important to us that we build the club slowly and naturally through the age groups. We want all the boys to feel like they are fully involved in every training session and in all games. We have worked hard from day one to ensure we have the right coaches, enough space and the opportunities for the youngsters to thrive, whether that’s in games or tournaments in Jersey, Guernsey and hopefully overseas in the future. We’re delighted at the success and there is a real buzz and sense of community at all of our sessions,” said James.

This season the club entered its first under 11s team into the league but there have been limited games due to Covid restrictions. The club planned to host tournaments for all age groups but that is something they now plan to do next season. The club has also formed a link with Italy Serie A Club, Torina FC.

“Recognising potential is part of Ravenscroft’s ethos, whether that’s the potential of our own team or the potential of investments on behalf of our clients. We see that same approach at JS Juniors who want to develop potential and a lifelong commitment to sport. Our three year commitment to JS Juniors is part of our growing involvement in the community and reflects the growth of our business in the island,” said director of Ravenscroft, Haydn Taylor.
