Brighter Futures, the Jersey charity is appealing for six-a-side football teams to come forward to play in its second six a side football tournament, to be held on Sunday 7th July, at Springfield.
Brighter Futures supports more than 150 families per week from its premises at The Bridge and seeks to raise £10,000 if 20 teams enter ‘Football for Futures’. So far, 10 teams have signed up for the challenge, building on the success of last year’s tournament.
Kindly sponsored by Ogier, who are also entering a team, the tournament is a friendly way to raise vital funds for Brighter Futures and to enjoy playing football at the same time. The Brighter Futures Cup will be presented to the winning team.
Sarah Nibbs, Fundraising, Events and Partnerships Manager at The Bridge, explained: “We have had a great uptake for the six a side tournament so far, but we would love even more teams to join us. Our only rule is that all teams should have players who are 18 years of age, or over. It costs Brighter Futures £6,600 to support one family for one year, and any funds raised go directly towards helping families to learn the skills that they need to thrive.”
It costs £500 to enter a team and all funds raised will go towards helping more families have a brighter future.
