Crestbridge has announced that the former Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), John Harris, is to join the Group at the start of next year.
After 12 years at the JFSC, John will become non-executive Chairman of the Crestbridge Group from 1 January 2019. This newly created role reflects the significant growth of the Group, which now employs over 280 staff across its offices in Bahrain, the Cayman Islands, Jersey, London and Luxembourg.
Bringing extensive private and public sector experience in international financial services institutions to the role, John will join Crestbridge as one of a small number of professional and non-executive director commitments following his retirement from the JFSC earlier in the year.
John is a regular and highly-regarded speaker and contributor to conferences and the wider financial services debate, including the global role of international finance centres (IFCs). Prior to his position at the JFSC, he was Director – International Finance for the Government of Jersey with responsibility for all aspects of policy on the enhancement of Jersey’s position as an IFC.
His earlier career was spent with NatWest Bank where he held a number of global management positions in the UK, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Nassau and the Channel Islands.
Commenting on John’s appointment, Graeme McArthur, CEO, Crestbridge said: “We’re really excited about this new appointment and what it means for Crestbridge as a group. John’s wealth of experience from previous global roles will bring significant benefit to the group across all our offices and jurisdictions as we continue to grow as a business and support the success of our international client base.”
John added: “I’m delighted to be joining Crestbridge at this exciting time and to have this unique opportunity to help the business reach the next stage of growth. I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the senior management team as they develop the business strategy and organisational structure to focus on delivering a first-class service to clients, whilst the emphasis Crestbridge places on its reputation, standards and client needs is very closely aligned with my own view as to what makes a business successful.”
