Jersey based SRJ Technologies has appointed Zamil Operations and Maintenance Co Ltd (“ZOMCO”) as its agent for the lucrative oil and gas and pipeline market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. SRJ is a specialised engineering business focussing on containment management, particularly weld-free couplings and repair claims for high pressure pipelines.
The initial three-year agency agreement sees ZOMCO appointed as SRJ’s agent for the Saudi Arabian market. ZOMCO will promote SRJ’s technology to clients in the residential, construction, Government, and oil and gas markets as well as selling SRJ solutions at agreed commercial rates, position SRJ for tendering opportunities in country, and assist SRJ in obtaining all import clearances for components that cannot be manufactured in country.
Founded in 1977 by the Zamil Group, ZOMCO is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading providers of operations and maintenance services in the Kingdom with expertise ranging from operation and maintenance of onshore and off-shore oil and gas production and processing facilities, chemical and petrochemical plants, engineering services, and utilities including gas metering stations, power stations, waste water, potable water, sea water cooling systems and sewage treatment plants.
SRJ Chief Executive Officer Alexander Wood, said the agency agreement was part of SRJ’s short-term goals to expand into new territories. “This agency agreement with ZOMCO leapfrogs us into one of the world’s largest oil and gas, and pipeline networks, with a strong and well regarded local partner,” Mr Wood said.
“ZOMCO’s appointment by Saudi Aramco as manager of its pipeline maintenance works shows the calibre of partner that we have teamed up with, and the ZOMCO team will provide us with key insights into winning new contracts in the Middle East.”
SRJ Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa Roger Smith said ZOMCO was a well-established business operating in precisely the market sectors where SRJ anticipated high demand for its products and services.
“ZOMCO will manufacture SRJ products in country and has the inhouse expertise to install and maintain those products in the field,” Mr Smith said. “This is fully aligned with the SRJ business model and gives us a launchpad into a strategically important market.”
ZOMCO Executive Vice President Gavin Ames said ‘ we are very happy to have agreed this venture with SRJ and are looking forward to developing a successful and sustainable business to meet the demands of the local oil and gas market by providing a leading technology solution combined with local manufacture and product support.’
