The team at La Mare Wine Estate have stars in their eyes after success at this year’s Great Taste Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of the food world.
The Estate’s scooped gold stars for seven of their locally made produce at this year’s prestigious awards which is organised by the Guild of Fine Food.
La Mare’s Salted Caramel, Royal Gin Chocolates, Apple Brandy Cream Liqueur and Branchage Cider were all awarded 2 stars and rated ‘Outstanding’ by the judges in this tough competition where less than 15% of entries receive the 2 ‘star’ rating.
La Mare’s Black Butter Chocolates, Royal Pink Gin and VSOP Apple Brandy were all awarded 1 ‘star’, a sign they are all delivering ‘fantastic flavour’, according to the judges.
Commenting on the awards, La Mare’s Managing Director Tim Crowley said: “There were 12,772 products entered in this year’s Great Taste Awards and just over 38% of those entries achieved some level of accredited so we are absolutely delighted to be awarded so many stars. It’s real testament to the hard work of all our dedicated team and gives us confidence that we are making great tasting products for our customers to enjoy.”
