In Parishes where there is only one candidate for the one role of Connétable, voters will also have the option to vote for ‘None of the Candidates’. This provides an opportunity for voters to voice their opinion if they do not feel that the candidate shares their views and values, as an alternative to just not voting. Choosing ‘none of the candidates’ is a vote against the candidate running for that position. If ‘none of the candidates’ receives the most votes in any particular Connétable election, no one will be elected and there will be a by-election at a later date.
Candidate manifesto booklets relevant to each constituency will be delivered to all households in early June, in addition to 2-minute videos of each candidate speaking their manifesto, which will be available online on Vote.je and YouTube.
