As one of the earliest members of SLH when it joined in 1993, The Atlantic has been a committed supporter of this globally renowned consortium through its successful development as an international grouping of like-minded hoteliers, which today boasts more than 500 hotels across 80 countries.
SLH prides itself on its collection of independently run small luxury hotels which offer a unique personal touch and leave a lasting impression by delivering authentic one-of-a-kind experiences.
For The Atlantic, joining SLH was a pivotal moment in positioning the hotel as a luxury property and helped to establish it as a niche product within Jersey’s hospitality industry. The Atlantic Hotel remains the sole member of SLH in Jersey to this day.
The hotel’s close association with SLH extends to owner and managing director of The Atlantic, Patrick Burke who served as a director for the best part of 20 years from 1999 and was elected chairman in 2006 for a three-year period. During this time, he worked closely with the management company to ensure the success of SLH at a time of rapid change. He is one of only three British hoteliers to ever achieve this honour and was a key member of the strategy group that oversaw the recent restructuring of the consortium enabling an injection of £12m of investment into a new five-year plan. Patrick remains deeply committed to SLH, having visited more than 250 member properties around the world.
Patrick Burke said: “We are immensely proud to be marking 25 years as members of SLH and consider it a great honour to fly the flag for Jersey on this international stage. SLH membership is a stamp of excellence and a point of differentiation for our guests. More than this, SLH has long been a source of inspiration and guidance for me personally and we have made many friends for The Atlantic and Jersey along the way. Looking forward I see SLH going from strength to strength and I am as excited as ever about our association with this world class brand.”
