The Jersey Statistics User Group has launched the first statistics users survey in its history.
The importance of robust and independent statistics in public life is clear.
The Statistics Users Group (SUG) is an independent body established in 1999 to oversee the quality, relevance and integrity of the statistics compiled by or on behalf of a public authority. This role involves reviewing and commenting on any official statistics prepared or published by the States of Jersey.
The SUG is made up of:
- Up to 10 members from the Island’s business community, labour force and general public
- A chair (who must be neither a member of the States nor an official of a department of the States)
The role of Chair has recently been taken on by Gailina Liew.
The SUG has launched a survey to help them better understand the needs of statistics users, and the group hope to reach as many people as possible, whether or not they have read about, or used, any of the information made available by Statistics Jersey and other public authorities in Jersey.
This survey is being undertaken by Island Global Research on behalf of the Statistics Users Group and can be found here.
