Jersey Post has announced it has recently won the contract for all on-Island UPS deliveries, signifying the start of a new partnership between the Island’s postal operator and the well-known parcel delivery agent.
Earlier in the year, UPS went out to tender looking for a final mile delivery provider on-Island and Jersey Post were successful in their bid for the contract. UPS deliveries have integrated with Jersey Post’s current operational delivery processes, which include partners such as Amazon and Yodel, and have been underway since 19 October 2023. With Jersey Post’s electric fleet and advanced technology, it laid the foundation for a solid partnership and demonstrated its capability as the top on-Island delivery partner.
Julie Thomas, Managing Director of Postal and Logistics at Jersey Post commented: “By winning contracts like this, Jersey Post are making strides as the Island’s preferred delivery provider. We are thrilled to be able to serve Jersey residents and businesses with their UPS deliveries.”
All UPS deliveries arrive on the Island via the Goodwill ferry and should be delivered the same day, except when ferries are delayed. To ensure your UPS item is delivered on the first attempt, customers are advised to sign up to Jersey Post’s free SecureDrop service, particularly those that are not at home during the day, as this saves customers’ valuable time collecting items from Postal Headquarters at Rue des Pres.
