Jill Britton has been appointed as the permanent Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC).
Jill has held the position as Interim Director General since September 2021, following the departure of Martin Moloney.
Jill’s appointment by the commissioners follows a robust selection process overseen by the Jersey appointments commission.
As Interim Director General, Jill has led the organisation and been instrumental in steering the JFSC’s new three-year strategy. Unveiled in November 2021, the strategy aims to achieve sustainable, long-term excellence in regulatory effectiveness while increasing the Island’s capability to combat financial crime.
Before stepping in as Interim Director General, Jill was Director of Supervision at the JFSC since 2016. She was responsible for overseeing the regulation of Jersey’s financial services industry and the supervision of other sectors for anti-money laundering and terrorist financing.
With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry in Jersey, the UK and Asia, Jill has a wealth of knowledge in compliance and operational risk management for global banking organisations.
In her time as Interim Director General, Jill has worked closely with the Executive Team, the Board, the Government of Jersey, and industry representatives to ensure that the JFSC is a high performing regulator, building for the long-term success of Jersey.
