Jersey Finance is launching its first ‘Sustainable Finance Awards’, with nominations opening for organisations and individuals on 30th May.
The awards are designed to recognise and showcase the leading people and firms in Jersey’s sustainable finance ecosystem, promote innovation, and help to develop Jersey’s credentials as a leading sustainable international finance centre.
There are three main categories of awards:
- Leadership in Sustainable Finance: with six awards spanning the funds, private wealth, corporate services, investment management, banking and professional services sectors
- Innovation in Sustainable Finance: for a firm that best exemplifies innovation
- Outstanding Individual Contribution: recognising a key Jersey-based professional who has contributed to Jersey’s vision of being a sustainable finance centre of excellence
Nominations will be open from 30th May to 1st July with a panel of judges selecting winners, which will be announced at an awards ceremony on 13 October. The judges are Andrew Mitchell, Founder and CEO at Equilibrium Futures; Amy Blackwell, Partner at Acorn Capital Advisors; and Simon Boas, Executive Director of Jersey Overseas Aid.
Joe Moynihan (pictured), Chief Executive of Jersey Finance, commented: “Backed up by our sustainable finance strategy which was launched last year, we are making good progress in cementing Jersey’s reputation as a centre of excellence for ESG investment and remain focused on continuing to uphold our responsibility to support the transition to a sustainable global economy.
“Establishing these awards is a natural next step, giving us an opportunity to shine a light on local organisations and individuals demonstrating commitment to operating sustainably and prioritising ESG values in the workplace.”
