Jersey Finance has launched a new initiative this month aimed at giving young ‘future leaders’ from across the local financial and professional services industry an opportunity to collaborate and input into the future direction of the sector.
The newly launched Future Leaders Forum, which met for the first-time last week, will see winners of the annual Jersey Finance Rising Stars Awards come together on a regular basis throughout the year to discuss key issues affecting the industry.
Members of the Forum will also have the opportunity to suggest ways to maintain and facilitate Jersey’s competitiveness as an international financial centre, with the outcomes of their discussions being shared with the Jersey Finance’s Board and the Financial Services Advisory Board (FSAB), which is chaired by the Government of Jersey.
Joe Moynihan, CEO, Jersey Finance, said: “We’re absolutely committed to supporting the future leaders of our financial and professional services sectors, and giving the winners of our Rising Stars Awards a platform to come together is one way to achieve this. The Future Leaders Forum will provide an opportunity for those participating to have interesting discussions about what they are seeing day-to-day and get some insights into what we are doing at Jersey Finance, but also for them to feedback to us about what we could be doing better to support them.
“This sort of engagement is really important. It’s an initiative that has the potential to bring about really positive, constructive change and provide us with fresh perspectives as we look to nurture a resilient and sustainable workforce in Jersey.”
