The Jersey Employment Trust is looking for a new chairperson for its Board of Trustees. JET is a charitable trust set up to provide specialist support services for people who have a disability or long-term health condition to find and maintain paid employment. It runs a number of business units through Acorn Enterprises, including a reuse store, plant nursery and the Woodshack.
Ideally, the prospective candidate will have a keen interest in both disability issues and employment matters, as well as good interpersonal skills, social awareness and a strong commitment to equal opportunities. The chair is required to attend four meetings a year and occasional ad hoc advisory sessions with the management team. This post represents an excellent opportunity for someone to reinvest their experience in a worthwhile charitable initiative, either via corporate responsibility or individual basis.
The outgoing chairman Geoff Cook, who is former chief executive of Jersey Finance, has held the post for five years.
To discuss the position further or for an application pack, please contact Executive Officer Jocelyn Butterworth on 788992 or email [email protected]
Applications should be received by Friday 23rd October 2020.
