Suppliers who provide cyber security services in Jersey have been invited to join new advisory group.
Jersey Cyber Security Centre (JCSC) has formed the Cyber Suppliers Advisory Group, bringing together more than 20 on-Island suppliers.
The Cyber Suppliers Advisory Group (CSAG) enables members to:
- Exchange knowledge, and discuss cyber security challenges
- Develop and collaborate on best practice
- Review current intelligence on cyber security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities
- Provide feedback on JCSC services, and provide input into government policy on cyber security.
Confidential meetings will take place two to four times a year, and chaired by JCSC and membership of the group is free and open to any company supplying cyber security services to on-Island organisations.
Whilst member organisations do not need to be based in Jersey, but they must currently have a local presence, and provide cyber security services to organisations based in Jersey.
The group had its initial meeting in late May, with a further meeting planned for early Autumn.
Matt Palmer (pictured), Director of JCSC, said: “Cyber security is complex, fast-moving, and vital to the Island’s economy and safety. This means that we benefit from being able to draw on the knowledge we already have on-Island.
“The Cyber Suppliers Advisory Group is designed to bring together cyber security experts in a confidential and collaborative space. This will allow us to share intelligence and information amongst trusted colleagues, to help us better address some of the challenges facing the Island.
Matt Derrien, Cyber Risk Officer at JCSC, said: “The group will work on developing best practice guidelines for businesses and organisations. Islanders will be able to rely on this best practice, secure in the knowledge that it has been developed with input from experts.
“These areas of focus mean that the Cyber Suppliers Advisory Group will be an important contributor to Jersey’s overall cyber security protections. I’d invite any suppliers who are keen to work with us – and colleagues – to email [email protected].”
