Jersey Cyber Security Centre has launched a new website to help Islanders protect themselves against cyber security threats.
Jersey Cyber Security Centre (JCSC) is responsible for preventing, protecting and defending the Island against cyber attacks. As well as providing information and advice, JCSC also gathers intelligence to protect the Island, and provides direct support in the event of a high-profile cyber attack.
JCSC was originally named CERT.JE: the organisation name was changed to reflect the organisation’s role in preventing – as well as responding to – cyber attacks.
The new website includes information, advice and guidance for individuals, businesses, government, and third sector organisations.
The website will also allow Islanders to:
- Report cyber security incidents
- Report cyber security vulnerabilities that cyber attackers could use to target Jersey
- Request a free cyber advice session with JCSC
- Find tailored information and advice
Matt Palmer (pictured), Director of the Cyber Security Centre, said: “Our old website provided us with a basic online presence while we built JCSC’s team and processes. The new website is much more of a support hub for islanders and industry, which reflects the expertise and skills of the JCSC team.
“In the cyber security world, knowledge sharing is power. It’s vital that users can access high-quality guidance, and that they can share information with us in confidence.
“Our new website enables this, providing tailored information for different sections of our community, and making it easy for Islanders to report vulnerabilities and incidents to us. This makes it easier for our team to act on this information to prepare, protect and defend the Island against cyber attacks.
“Our website has been developed by Jersey-based providers and uses leading edge techniques to ensure security and accessibility for all. We would like to thank Switch Digital for their work to bring this site to fruition, and Defence Logic for security testing.
“On a personal level I am particularly pleased that jcsc.je is designed and tested against level ‘AA’ of the international standard in web accessibility. It’s often assumed that the internet is available to all, but many disabilities such as visual impairment can make it difficult or impossible. We’re committed to doing what we can to make our services available to all, both in person and online.”
