A Jersey charity which cares for islanders with debilitating physical disabilities is in the running for two prestigious local industry awards.
Jersey Cheshire Home has been shortlisted for both Best Health, Wellbeing and Mental Fitness Initiative and also for Outstanding Employee Engagement Initiative during the Covid-19 pandemic in the CIPD Jersey Branch Awards 2022.
The awards recognise and honour outstanding achievement by those who are passionate about people management and development.
The first award acknowledges organisations that have demonstrated a clear link between initiatives to support employee health, wellbeing and mental fitness business objectives particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Entrants were required to provide clear evidence of what safety measures were put in place to protect employees from Covid-19 and the impact of that in terms of a reduction in absence, accident levels or signs of mental health issues and, or improvements in staff engagement or performance.
The charity was shortlisted for the second award after demonstrating how the team were motivated to go the extra mile during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this category the judges are on the lookout for evidence that initiatives that were focused on organisational needs with objectives linked to real drivers of engagement to improve outputs, in the case of Jersey Cheshire Home, providing vital services to its residents.
Commenting Donna Abel (pictured), CEO Jersey Cheshire Home said, “We’re thrilled to be in the running for these two high profile awards. We’ve been shortlisted alongside some fantastic local corporate organisations. To be acknowledged in this way really is testament to the brilliant team we have at Jersey Cheshire Home, all of whom are incredibly passionate in all they do, continuously striving to provide the very best care for both our residents and our colleagues, even during a pandemic!”
The CIPD 2022 Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 18th June at the Royal Yacht Hotel.
