Jersey Cheshire Home has announced that three of its residents will be participating in this year’s iconic Battle of Flowers parade.
Stanley Baudains, Irene Hamon and Dina De Jesus will be showcasing their elegantly embellished electric wheelchairs, all dressed to meet the theme of ‘Party Time at Jersey Cheshire Home.’
Adding to the excitement, the residents will also take part in the magical moonlight parade on Saturday 10th August, when the wheelchairs will be adorned with twinkling lights and glow in the dark decorations.
The Battle of Flowers is one of Jersey’s most anticipated annual events, regularly attracting thousands of spectators. This year, Jersey Cheshire Home will contribute by highlighting the creativity and spirit of its residents.
To bring this vision to life, Jersey Cheshire Home is seeking creative volunteers to assist in decorating the wheelchairs. Volunteers will have the chance to collaborate with residents, share ideas, and help decorate the chairs.
Donna Abel, CEO, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, saying: “We are incredibly proud of our residents who are participating in the Battle of Flowers parade. This event is a wonderful platform to showcase their creativity and promote inclusivity within our community. We look forward to cheering them on along the Avenue as they join in the festivities.”
