Jersey Bulls FC, the first Jersey-based football club to enter the English league system, has unveiled Butterfield Bank as its gold sponsor for the next four seasons.
Butterfield has been backing the Bulls since the club was formed, sponsoring its first match in England’s Combined Counties Football League in August 2019. It was an historic occasion when the Bulls hosted the most southerly match ever played in the English football league.
Jersey Bulls FC was established in 2018 with a mission to take Island football into the English leagues for the first time. The club helps to raise the profile and prospects of Jersey’s footballers by providing exposure off-island and opportunities to play to a higher level.
Ian Horswell, Director of Jersey Bulls FC, said: “Butterfield embodies the ethos of professionalism, a team that works hard to excel and we want to encourage this kind of spirit at our club. The generosity shown by Butterfield will help us to strengthen our squad, upgrade our facilities and enhance the fans’ experience. This sponsorship will play a key role in the club’s future.”
Butterfield’s logo will feature prominently on the Bulls’ home and away shirts. The Bulls’ home shirt was launched at the club’s Springfield stadium (see attached photo). The shirt was worn for the first time in the Jersey Bulls’ match against Farnham Town at the weekend.
Noel McLaughlin, Managing Director at Butterfield Bank (Jersey) Limited, said: “We are delighted to be one of the main sponsors for the Jersey Bulls. Butterfield is committed to supporting the communities we live in and sport plays a significant role in Jersey life. Over the next four seasons we will back the Bulls to ensure they continue to prosper. We wish them the best of luck and future success in the league.”
