Advocate James Corbett has launched JCKC Law in Jersey, providing bespoke legal services to professional intermediaries, high net worth individuals and institutional clients.
JCKC Law represents the experience and expertise of its founder, James Corbett, who is also a practicing English King’s Counsel (KC).
James was sworn in as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in January 2023, and is the first ever practising English King’s Counsel to be called to the Jersey Bar.
Uniquely in Jersey, the Chambers will provide arbitration and mediation expertise, as James is both a qualified Chartered Arbitrator and commercial mediator.
JCKC Law will also offer a tailored legal service to individuals and businesses in both contentious and non-contentious civil matters, with an emphasis on commercial and trust law litigation. As English counsel who has been called in numerous other jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, Singapore and the Cayman Islands, the dispute resolution lawyer is also able to appear before a range of international courts and tribunals.
James said: “I am delighted to establish JCKC Law in Jersey, to meet the professional advisory needs of international clients. I will provide a range of services, from conventional dispute resolution and litigation, to mediation and arbitration in civil law disputes, where the parties wish to settle complex commercial matters without the cost and publicity that legal proceedings can bring.”
He will practice as Advocate James Corbett in Jersey and as James Corbett KC in England and Wales and internationally.
JCKC Law will further provide dispute resolution expertise, especially for parties engaged in trust or commercial litigation.
