The team at Jacksons have thanked customers for their ‘overwhelming’ generosity, helping them to raise £2,789 for victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
On 6th February, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 claimed the lives of more than 55,000 people in southern Turkey and northern Syria.
Last month the local motor dealers organised a charity car wash in both Jersey and Guernsey over the weekend and spent hours cleaning dozens of cars at Jacksons and Motor Mall.
Commenting on the fundraiser Andrew Searle, General Manager Channel Islands said: “The shocking and tragic news about the earthquake in Turkey and Syria last month has affected many of our team and we really wanted to try and do something to help those struggling after the damage that has been done.
”We’ve been overwhelmed by the support of islanders in both Jersey and Guernsey and are really grateful for their generosity in donating to this cause.”
