Condor and Brittany Ferries have launched a joint initiative offering Islanders discounted fares on the French company’s network to Spain and Ireland.
This follows a promise made by Condor’s and Brittany Ferries’ CEO, Christophe Mathieu, last month that the two companies would start to work more closely together on various projects.
The travel scheme, which went live on Monday 22 April, means Condor passengers can save up to 30% off Brittany Ferries’ routes to a range of destinations including Santander and Bilbao in Spain and Rosslare in Ireland.
Mr Mathieu said: “This is a very good example of how our two companies can cooperate and we are delighted to open the extensive Brittany Ferries’ timetable and network to Channel Islanders.
“We believe this could also benefit inbound tourism, as we will offer a reduction for visitors to travel on Condor’s services to Jersey and Guernsey from these destinations this Summer.”
The offer applies to Condor customers with future bookings or for those looking to make a new reservation and take advantage of onwards travel on Brittany Ferries’ routes. They are to contact Condor’s reservations team who will then provide information on how passengers can reserve their onward travel on Brittany Ferries. The 30% concession applies to foot passengers and for those travelling with all vehicle types and is valid up to 31 October 2024.
Mr Mathieu added: “Commercially opportunities are just one example of the closer working relationship between our two companies. The second berthing trial of Brittany Ferries’ Barfleur will take place in Guernsey tomorrow and I am committed to bringing greater strength and depth to Island ferry services.”
