The latest Island Global Research Brand Reputation Index for Autumn 2024 has revealed the organisations that residents of the Channel Islands would be most proud to work for.

This year’s survey highlights a mix of public services, retail, and media brands as top employers, demonstrating the importance of both company reputation and community contribution.

In Jersey, the top organisations where residents expressed pride in working include the Government of Jersey, British Airways, ITV Channel Islands, and BBC Radio Jersey. These organisations are noted for their strong public service roles and visibility in the community. Additionally, brands like Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, and Jersey Dairy consistently rank highly across different age groups, with Jersey Dairy particularly appealing to those under 40.

In Guernsey, top choices included Specsavers, BBC Radio Guernsey, Butterfield, and the States of Guernsey. These organisations are recognised for their contributions to island life and the quality of employment they offer. Retail brands such as Marks & Spencer and Guernsey Post also stood out, especially among older age groups.

The survey suggests that factors influencing these rankings include an organisation’s role in supporting island life and the benefits packages they offer to employees. Notably, supermarkets like Waitrose ranked highly in both islands, reflecting their trusted reputations and consistent performance.

The IGR Brand Reputation Index has tracked the perception of local brands for five years, providing valuable insights for organisations looking to enhance their employer brand and attract top talent. The Autumn 2024 survey captured views from 872 respondents in Jersey and 1,015 in Guernsey.
