It’s the annual ‘Real nappy week’ and this year the Guernsey Real Nappy Network (GRNN) is keen to reach out to new parents and carers who are thinking about switching to cloth nappies.
The GRNN was established as a not for profit community group whose aim is to promote the benefits of real nappies whilst offering independent advice and practical support to anyone in the Bailiwick.
The last couple of years have been a difficult time for everyone and getting together seemed impossible at times. The GRNN want to explore new ways of meeting and supporting new parents and carers as they begin on their real nappy journey. During Real Nappy Week the GRNN will be hosting an online meeting so parents and carers can talk to GRNN members about using real nappies and also volunteering with the GRNN.
The GRNN also wants to remind parents and carers that the States of Guernsey offers a £35.00 cashback incentive (per child) which is redeemable against the purchase of real cloth nappies, new or secondhand.
During Real Nappy Week the GRNN is drawing attention to how easy modern real nappies are to use and wants to encourage new local cloth nappy users. There are so many modern styles that closely resemble disposables. They are very easy to put on and easy to launder. Great for friends, grandparents and nursery!
The GRNN are holding events throughout Real Nappy Week for parents and carers to learn more about how to ‘go real’.
- The GRNN will be hosting a ‘nappychino’ for interested parents and carers to learn more about real nappies while enjoying a slice of cake. This will be held at Bright Beginnings Children’s Centre (at the old St Sampson’s Infant School) on Thursday 28th of April from 1-3.30pm.
- An online ‘Nappy Natter’ will take place on Thursday 28th of April at 7.30pm. Please contact the GRNN via email for further details.
