The IoD Guernsey Next Gen Forum has launched a mentorship programme to partner members of the Forum, who are aspiring directors, with established IoD members.
As a new scheme for the Guernsey branch of the IoD, the mentorship programme will run for an initial nine-month period commencing in October 2023. The scheme is open to IoD members and designed for individuals aspiring towards directorship roles in the next five years.
The scheme will offer mentees the opportunity to learn directly from experienced directors in a variety of industries on how to grow into leadership positions and meet personal and professional goals. The scheme aims to establish meaningful relationships and the opportunity to tailor each mentees’ experience to their specific goals, ambitions and development journey.
Tom Zierer (pictured), Chair of the IoD Guernsey Next Gen Forum, said: “One of our core purposes, as a next gen platform, is to provide opportunities to enable our members to develop their skills to become tomorrow’s business leaders. We are proud to bring this third pillar of our initial objectives to our members which alongside networking and training, we believe is imperative for the island’s next cohort of directors.
“We are grateful to have the support of the main IoD committee, many of whom have put themselves forward as mentors.”
The scheme is currently open for mentees to apply. Mentees will need to be IoD members and available to meet with their mentor on a monthly basis. The deadline for applications is Thursday 21st September.
