Chair of the IoD and corporate governance expert Charlotte Valeur will share her vision for the organisation, and provide a corporate governance masterclass for members.
Charlotte was appointed as Chair of the IoD in September last year and is responsible for championing the IoD’s values, promoting its objectives and providing leadership to the Institute, ensuring it delivers maximum impact for its members and stakeholders.
Charlotte is a corporate governance expert and a keen advocate for diversity in the boardroom, underpinning this advocacy with action by founding Board Apprentice.
Before entering the field of governance, Charlotte worked in finance, where she has over 30 years’ experience.
John Clacy, Chairman of Guernsey’s IoD, said: “We are delighted Charlotte is coming to the island in her capacity as Chair. Charlotte’s knowledge and experience are invaluable and we are very much looking forward to hearing about her vision for the organisation and taking part in her corporate governance masterclass. Charlotte is from Jersey so she has a unique understanding of our economy and how the IoD can add value.”
Tickets are now on sale for the IoD’s July Lunch with Charlotte Valeur and an exclusive dinner for IoD alumni. Both events are sponsored by Brooks Macdonald.
Mark O’Connor, Head of Investment Management at Brooks Macdonald International, said: “Guernsey prides itself on its ability to demonstrate quality leadership and high standards of governance in all corners of its private and public sectors. In an increasingly complex and globally connected world, there’s no doubt that those qualities will become increasingly important in the years ahead.
“Certainly at Brooks Macdonald we place a strong emphasis on striving to be the best in everything we do and, with that in mind, I’m delighted that we are able to support these events once again and help promote the importance of pursuing professional excellence.”
The July Lunch and Alumni Dinner both take place at the Old Government House Hotel on Wednesday 3 July.
