Investec Bank (Channel Islands) has won Private bank of the Year, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, and CEO Brendan Stewart won a Silver Award in the Private Banker of the Year category at the Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards 2022.
The Awards, now in their 11th year, highlight excellence in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres, and are judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all private wealth sectors covering all the jurisdictions. The winners are those judged to have excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise, and service.
Commenting on the Awards, Brendan Stewart said, “It is undoubtedly an honour to receive both accolades, which is testimony of course to the hard work and dedication of our teams across Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man where we have continued to grow our business across all sectors and maintain our incredible high levels of service.
“Our purpose as a Bank has always been to help our clients grow their wealth and to manage that wealth. We have refined this ethos with a new articulation and reinterpretation: that there is wealth beyond worth and that as a business we must live in society, not off society. This reflects that, to us, wealth is about so much more than money and we are delighted that the judges have recognised that.
“I am also personally delighted to have won a Silver Award. I am privileged to work for an organisation that has an entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on leadership rather than management.
“We hire people with the right skills and aptitude and my role is to empower them and give them freedom to operate in their area, while setting them goals and targets, but leaving the execution up to them. I am supported by a strong leadership team with shared values and common objectives and this accolade is as much for them as it is for me.”
