Brendan Stewart has been appointed Managing Director of Investec Private Bank in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Brendan succeeds Stephen Henry, who is retiring after 10 years in the post.
Brendan Stewart has held a number of senior roles with Investec Bank Limited in South Africa in his 14 years with the group, including Regional Head, Investec Private Bank in Durban, and for the past decade has been responsible for growing the regional Private Banking business within the region and a staff of 130 people. During this time he sat on the bank’s National Management Committee, which oversees development and strategy in South Africa.
Previously Brendan held management positions with accountants Grant Thornton and EY, and the London-based venture capital firm, Unilever Ventures.

Brendan Stewart is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, having completed the Programme for Leadership Development, is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds a Degree and Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Natal in Durban. Married with three children, Brendan officially took over from Stephen Henry at the beginning of April 2019.
