Internationally acclaimed comedian, Jake Lambert, will entertain guests at this year’s Guernsey Property and Construction Awards.
Jake started stand-up after gaining a following on Twitter under the pseudonym @LittleLostLad. He then decided to put down his iPhone and pick up a microphone, which has proven to be a great choice with him making it to the semi-finals of the BBC New comedy Award within 6 months of his first gig, leading to performances on both BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 2.
His joke writing has lead him to write for such shows as 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC’S Mock The Week, and E4’s Virtually Famous.
Jake has gone on to receive a plethora of nominations including The MagnersNew Comedian of the Year 2015, and the prestigious Leicester Mercury NewAct of the Year 2015.
He also made it to the final of the English Comedian of the Year and the Amused Moose Laugh Off Final, 2016.
In 2017 Jake supported Seann Walsh on his One For The Road tour. He also supported Rob Beckett on his Mouth of The South tour and was asked to support Romesh Ranganathan on his tour, Irrational.
In addition to Jake’s comedy entertainment, the organisers have announced that the joint comperes of the Awards evening will be none other than Guernsey motorsport heroes, Andy and Sebastian Priaulx.
Andy Priaulx is a hugely popular racing driver from Guernsey, currently racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He is a European Touring Car champion, three times World Touring Car champion and the only FOA Touring Car champion to win an international-level championship for four consecutive years (2004 to 2007).
Andy’s son, Sebastian (Seb), has followed in his father’s footsteps, and has a promising racing career ahead of him, having already won a plethora of races in his young life.
The father and son duo have never presented awards together before, and the organisers of the Guernsey Property and Construction Awards are delighted they will be doing so for the first time at home in Guernsey.
Co-founder of the Awards, Julie Todd, said:
“We are delighted to secure not only an excellent comedian in Jake Lambert to entertain our guests, but also Guernsey-born ambassadors Andy and Seb Priaulx as our joint comperes.
“The Awards evening is all about celebrating and rewarding those who excel in the property and construction sectors. There will be 8 categories up for grabs on the night, and what better way to raise the profile of the sector than with good food, excellent entertainment and two home-grown heroes?
“The whole team is thrilled with this year’s plans and wish to publicly thank our sponsors Ogier, BDO and G4S for their help in making it happen. We look forward to welcoming our guests for a fun-packed evening.”
The Guernsey Property and Construction Awards are taking place on Thursday 8 November at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre. Full details can be found on the website www.guernseyconstructionawards.com
