Shannon Lancaster from Ravenscroft has been named Fund Analyst of the Year at Investment Week’s Women in Investment Awards 2019.
The awards, which received more than 1,300 nominations, recognise the achievements of women in the investment industry and those companies and individuals who have helped improve diversity.
Miss Lancaster, who has worked for Ravenscroft since May 2017, was one of eight shortlisted in the Fund Analyst of the Year category. She was chosen as the winner by an independent panel of judges who commented that she was “a driven and tenacious individual who expressed passion for both her career and diversity, all with a sense of humility without taking the easy route”. She was also shortlisted in the Rising Star Award and was the only finalist from Guernsey.
“Having been shortlisted last year, I didn’t expect to be a finalist again, let alone be chosen as the winner. It was fantastic to be at the ceremony and hear more about how the investment industry is becoming increasingly diverse. Ravenscroft’s investment team is evenly split between men and women and that is reflected across our business and so I am proud to have won this meaningful award and help raise the company’s profile within the industry,” she said.
A spokesperson for Investment Week said that as well as inspiring achievements of women across all parts of the investment industry, the awards also help shape the discussion around improving diversity within the sector.
‘Investment Week is championing improving diversity within the investment sector and we believe these awards have a valuable part to play in drawing attention to this issue and demonstrating real change is starting to happen.’
