‘Wheels for You’ successfully launched an accessible cycling community hub at Les Beaucamps High School on Sunday 21 April, giving islanders the opportunity to enjoy cycling in a safe and welcoming environment.
A broad scope of participants attended the event, from individuals with visual impairments, Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s, to young children with Autism enjoying the benefits of cycling with their parents.
With a variety of adapted tricycles and bicycles available to try, the charity works hard to ensure inclusivity and accessibility is at the heart of the initiative and the cycling community as a whole.
As one of the charity beneficiaries of this year’s Saffery Rotary Walk, the goal is to create accessible cycling opportunities for individuals who are unable to ride traditional two-wheeled bicycles.
The vision is to expand opportunities for people to engage in physical activity regularly. ‘Wheels for You’ will become a thriving community hub where users build friendships and create cherished memories.
With your help ‘Wheels for You’ will purchase a Fun2Go trike for accessible cycling using donations received from this year’s Saffery Rotary Walk.
