HSBC has appointed Pete Turner as Country Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, in Guernsey, to oversee the Bank’s branch network and lead its retail, Premier, wealth and mortgages services
Pete brings a wealth of banking experience to the role having previously held a number of positions with HSBC, most recently as a Senior Manager of the People Experience HSBC UK team for the Bank’s Mortgage and Wealth business. He joined HSBC in 2004 and since then has worked as a Branch Manager in a number of locations including Senior Branch Manager for Brighton and Branch Manager for HSBC’s M&S Bank across the South East region.
Pete’s focus will be to ensure HSBC’s Guernsey retail customers receive the best possible service in areas such as banking, savings, lending, mortgage and wealth advice. In addition, Pete will also ensure his team across the island are supported with their own continued professional development.
Another important element of this role is to continue the work HSBC is doing across the island in helping to protect customers and the community against the rapidly evolving threat of cybercrime. Through the Bank’s partnership with national organisations such as Get Safe Online, Pete will be organising various events so customers can be well educated and informed to help towards protecting themselves against cybercrime.
Commenting on his new role in Guernsey, Pete said:
“I believe that good customer experience must start from the foundation stones of the business – its people – and this is why I’m looking forward to ensuring the continued personal development of our island branch teams, so they feel supported and able offer an outstanding banking experience.
“Retail banking is evolving incredibly quickly as customers become more and more mobile and expect faster, easier solutions from us. Also increasing in line with this is the threat of cybercrime, which is why I’ll have a continued focus on helping our customers and the community stay protected in an ever-changing banking environment.”
