All six of Highvern’s offices are joining forces to participate in the 2024 Funds Industry Climate Challenge.
Organised by the Irish funds sector’s Green Team Network in collaboration with the environmental NGO Global Action Plan, this collaborative initiative fosters a friendly competition among the offices as well as other participating companies, to implement positive changes for the environment.
Renowned for its award-winning funds, fiduciary and corporate services, Highvern has extended this challenge beyond its fund operations to include its corporate and private wealth teams, encouraging widespread involvement across the group, leveraging its global presence across the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey, Switzerland, and the UK.
The challenge commences on 22nd April and spans two weeks, empowering teams to explore how the impact of daily behavioural changes can reduce their personal carbon footprint. Participants log their daily activities, which are then quantified into CO2 emissions. In the pilot year of the initiative in 2023, 23 companies took part in the challenge and collectively saved 173 tonnes of CO2 emissions through more than 200,000 climate-smart actions.
Ellen Hibbs, Chair of Highvern’s ESG Committee, said: “The challenge aims to inspire and educate our colleagues by highlighting the significant impact of small steps towards reducing our carbon footprints. With an active ESG Committee, we strive to integrate environmental concerns into all aspects of our business operations. This initiative will propel us to further solidify our dedication to sustainability.”
