Hawk Group, a private family office, has confirmed that it is supporting to the Jersey Reds rugby team during their time of need.
The Jersey Reds team, a cornerstone of the Jersey sports scene, recently faced the abrupt cessation of trading, leaving players, support staff, and their families facing uncertain times.
Hawk Group, no stranger to championing local sporting activities, had already established itself as the lead sponsor for the Jersey RFC Women’s team for the second consecutive year. Recognising the pivotal role that the Jersey Reds play in the island’s sporting landscape and the broader community, Hawk Group intervened to ensure that the entire team’s September salaries are paid in full.
Rob Morton, Chairman of Hawk Group said: “Family and community lie at the heart of what we do at Hawk Group. The Jersey Reds are not just a rugby team; they are an integral part of the island’s identity and spirit.
“By offering our support, we hope to ease the burden on the players, support staff, and their families during this challenging period. We believe that investing in the wellbeing of our local sporting heroes ultimately contributes to the prosperity and unity of the entire Jersey community.”
The sudden cessation of trading has had a extreme impact on the players and support staff, many of whom are not originally from Jersey. This unforeseen turn of events has compelled several individuals and their families to make immediate adjustments, highlighting the Jersey Reds’ far-reaching influence beyond the field.
