Staff and guests at Jersey’s two Hand Picked Hotels will be helping give local families a brighter future.

The teams at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa have announced that Brighter Futures is their charity of choice for 2023.

Brighter Futures is a charity based at The Bridge that supports parents, carers, children and young people in Jersey.

The charity provides key worker support, working alongside the main carer to encourage child development, parent / carer-child relationships and family health and wellbeing to increase opportunities for the family.

They offer a range of personal development, educational and second chance learning programmes, group sessions, one-to-one emotional support, information, advice and practical help in order to aid parents and carers with building self-esteem, confidence and communication skills.

The sister hotels will be hosting a variety of events during 2023, which is also Brighter Futures crystal anniversary year. Already on the calendar is a fashion show, themed afternoon tea and a big curry supper to celebrate the Coronation in May which will be held in L’Horizon’s Crystal Room. Grand Jersey will be giving guests the opportunity to support with an optional £1 donation on bills and the hotels will be developing many more fundraising and awareness building opportunities throughout the year.

Commenting on the partnership, Simon Miller, Regional General Manager, Channel Islands said: “Brighter Futures helps families with real difficulties and challenges in their lives and we are committed to supporting them and helping in whatever way we can to make life a bit easier for these families.”

Sarah Nibbs, Fundraising, Events and Partnerships Manager, commented: “To have the support of Hand Picked Hotels in our crystal year is amazing. Not only are we looking forward to working with them to deliver some memorable fundraising events, we are also excited that the whole Hand Picked Hotels team wants to learn more about the essential work of Brighter Futures.”
