Jersey islanders to receive ‘booster’ Covid Status Certificates

Jersey islanders who have received a booster dose of a Covid-19 vaccine in Jersey will start receiving their paper Covid Status Certificate (CSC) demonstrating the booster dose.

The certificates are being sent in the post to all residents who received their booster dose before 8 December. Those who received their booster dose after 8 December will be sent a certificate within 2 weeks of the booster dose being administered.

While the digital CSC portal is still not live, Islanders are reminded they can call the Coronavirus Helpline who will email them a PDF version of the CSC. This will include a QR code for first, second and booster doses.

Officers are working on the re-launch of the Digital CSC portal, and an update will be provided soon.

The secure paper booster certificate can be used as evidence of a booster dose in the UK, EU and rest of the world.

Jersey issued vaccine QR codes will work in all UK domestic scenarios, including England. The QR code will read ‘valid’ when scanned by the NHS Covid Pass Verifier App. Islanders can check this themselves by downloading the App from Google/Apple stores and scanning the QR code representing their most recent dose.

The QR codes demonstrating a booster dose remain compatible with the EU scheme and will continue to work with the French Pass Sanitaire. Islanders are advised to check the conditions for entry to any destination as some countries impose additional measures, such as pre-departure PCR testing.

UK domestic certification policy currently only requires an individual to have received a primary course. (Boosters are scheduled to become mandatory in UK domestic scenarios in early January).

Secure paper primary course vaccination certificates (demonstrating a first and second dose) are automatically issued to all residents aged 12 and over within two weeks of the second dose being administered in Jersey.

Islanders who have moved address since receiving their first certificate, should update their details or call Customer and Local Services on 01534 444 444.
