The 2024 audit of Guernsey’s mobile mast sites confirms that emissions remain comfortably within internationally recognised safe levels for the general public.
The annual audit, commissioned by the Guernsey Competition & Regulatory Authority (the GCRA), has been carried out by independent experts.
Masts from all operators in several urban and rural locations were tested, and all were found to be well below the safety limits for the public as set out in guidance which is laid down by the International Commission for Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).
Michael Byrne, CEO of the GCRA, said: “Mobile masts help Guernsey residents and visitors to the Island stay connected and it is part of our job to ensure that emissions from those masts are below recognised and accepted minimum safety levels, to give Islanders peace of mind.”
