During the month of September, National Coding Week returned to Guernsey’s Digital Greenhouse.
The week focused on bringing a wide range of expert knowledge, awareness and the opportunity to learn some digital skills at all levels.
Over 200 people attended the hybrid events, getting involved with the range of workshops, talks and panels – all focused on the importance of upskilling and gaining useful digital skills that can be applied in a range of areas.
The Digital Greenhouse was joined by experts from Avado Learning, Agilisys, ESH Solutions, PwC Channel Islands, Careers Guernsey, the States of Guernsey and the University of the 3rd Age. The week was packed with events that included exploring the integration of social shops on eCommerce, the emerging automation revolution, the future of digital skills and their impacts on driving your business, coaching implementation and much more.
National Coding Week concluded with the technology festival, Future Rewired, sponsored by Prosperity 24/7 and organised by the Digital Greenhouse, which is now in its 3rd year. After welcoming over 50 attendees, the day progressed through the packed line-up of local speakers covering topics such as web app development, data collection and how it can be used to shape the local economy, the advancement of creative technology, best tips for interviewing with big tech corporations and more, and was punctuated by challenges hosted by the Digital Greenhouse team.
The festival was open to all people working in or interested in what the latest technology has to offer, and attendees were animatedly involved with the networking activities and games throughout the day.
Lucy Kirby, Director of the Digital Greenhouse commented, “Once again, we have been blown away by the range of Guernsey speakers showcasing innovation across a wide range of digital and creative applications. Future Rewired is a perfect example of this community coming together to share their knowledge and encourage others to be a part of the digital future of the island.”
