Guernsey’s Big Four accounting firms once again went to head-to-head in a summer sports tournament.
Taking place over the summer, the tournament finished in September. The aim of the tournament was to engage in a light-hearted inter-firm competition.
Deloitte, EY, PwC and KPMG each hosted a sporting event with scores being accumulated on a league board, contributing to the overall winner. PwC kicked off the league with a successful ultimate frisbee tournament. Following suit, KPMG hosted a basketball tournament. EY then hosted a lawn bowls tournament, before the summer finished with Deloitte’s dodgeball event at the end of September.
The final results saw EY crowned the winner of both ultimate frisbee and bowls, KPMG the champion of basketball and Deloitte winning the dodgeball. This resulted in PwC taking third place in the league table, Deloitte and KPMG finishing in joint second place, and EY crowned champions at the awards ceremony in October.
Viviane Kemgne, from Deloitte, said: “I’m really pleased that everyone was keen to repeat the Big Sports League, because last year was so much fun and this year didn’t disappoint either. It’s great to have some friendly competition with the other big firms on the island, and it gives us all a chance to try our hand at something new. Well done to all the organisers of each event.
“We’re already counting down until next year!”
