Guernsey Triathlon LBG have announced their team for the Guernsey 2023 Natwest Island Games.
For the first time the 2023 home games will feature two triathlon events. The games open with the Olympic Distance Triathlon which will be held at Rocquaine on the Sunday and, for the first time, a seafront relay event which will see two male and one female athlete from each island race against each other will close the games.
The squads are as follows:
- Men: Josh Lewis, James Travers, Thierry Le Cheminet, Dave Moseley, Chris Norman, Ove Svejstrup. Reserves: James Tipper & Mat Dorian
- Women: Megan Chapple, Chloe Truffit, Amy Critchlow, Emily Squire. Reserve: Sammy McNaught
Selection Team Committee Lead Mark Naftel said: “We’ve got really strong teams, both male and female. Pleased to see that Thierry, who has come through the club from racing as a youngster at school, through junior racing and now qualifies as a senior in his own right continuous to improve and is pushing the other top seniors time’s!
“We’ve strong medal hopes in both genders in the standard distance event at Rocquaine, and with the new Team Relays at the end of the week on the Town Seafront two showcase events for Guernsey Triathlon.”
The team will be supported for by Eric Sturdza Investments, who have supported the Triathlon Island Games Team since 2015. They will be joined in 2023 by DLM Architects.
