Butterfield has awarded its annual scholarships to five promising students including a talented student from Guernsey, Bob Cunningham Lomax, who will receive US$25,000 for the upcoming academic year.
The scholarships can be maintained for up to four academic years.
Bob Cunningham Lomax (pictured) received the Butterfield Undergraduate Scholarship for Employees’ Children (Europe), one of three regional scholarships available to Butterfield employees who are parents or guardians of a student pursuing post-secondary education. The scholarship funds will go towards his studies in English at Southampton University.
During his secondary education at Elizabeth College, Mr Cunningham Lomax has been an active member of the Combined Cadet Force, climbing to the rank of Sergeant, as well as contributing towards many drama productions and debating championships.
Richard Saunders, Butterfield’s Managing Director of the Channel Islands & UK, said: “We are delighted to award this scholarship to Bob and look forward to following his continued successes. Butterfield continues to invest in education and provide opportunities for our young people with a view to empowering the next generation to achieve their career ambitions.”
