Deputy Lyndon Trott has been elected to the position of Independent Trustee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Trust funds, by the organisation’s international executive committee.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is patron of the organisation. Deputy Trott was selected from a comprehensive Commonwealth-wide shortlist, drawn from a membership of over 17,000.
The role will see Deputy Trott sit alongside the Secretary General and Treasurer of the organisation on the three-person board, for a three-year term.
Deputy Trott who is the chairman of the executive committee of the CPA Guernsey branch said: “It is an honour and a privilege for Guernsey to be asked to undertake this important function of behalf of our fellow parliamentarians throughout the Commonwealth.
“It is further recognition that the Channel Islands are recognised as well regulated, internationally compliant and globally respected financial services centres of excellence”.
