The Guernsey Housing Association has promoted Sarah de Carteret to Extra Care Housing Manager.
In her new role, Sarah (pictured) will manage the services provided to both sites by Guernsey Housing Association (GHA). She will play a key role in developing the services provided to the extra care housing tenants including engaging the wider community and service providers.
Sarah joined the GHA in 2012 as a part-time housing officer. Sarah’s role extended to looking after Le Grand Courtil Extra Care Scheme when it was completed in 2014.
In 2020, Sarah became the Extra Care Housing Officer for GHA, running extra care schemes La Nouvelle Maraitaine & Le Grand Courtil, the Autism Hub and assisted living accommodation, Metivier House.
Commenting on her promotion, Sarah said: “I have had the privilege of working in the Extra Care Housing environment since it was introduced to Guernsey in 2014 and I have built relationships with many tenants and HSC staff along the way. Extra Care Housing is so unique and offers people the chance to stay in their own homes for longer, whilst receiving the care and support that they need. I have witnessed so many lives change for the better and this is why I love working in this environment.
“My goal is to continue improving our service, not just by focusing on tenancy management, but by fostering a stronger sense of community in order to improve the social needs of the tenants. I look forward to working closely with my team to ensure our tenants have the best possible support and living environment.”
