Carrie Ng, Head of Commercial Banking, HSBC in Guernsey has been recognised for her broad expertise, leadership skills and international experience, in the EMpower ‘Top 50 Future Leaders’ list.

EM power lists, published in partnership with membership organisation INvolve, feature 100 executives and 50 future leaders from ethnic minority backgrounds based in Canada, Ireland, the UK and the US. Four HSBC senior leaders across the globe, including Carrie who is based in Guernsey, have been included in the prestigious ranking of role models and champions for ethnic minority individuals in the workplace.

Carrie’s role as Head of Commercial Banking in Guernsey, part of HSBC’s Channel Islands and Isle of Man business, was recently announced following four international assignments with Commercial Banking in strategy and frontline teams across Hong Kong, Macau and London.

She has spoken at forums such as the Women Entrepreneur’s Network and the UK All-Party Parliamentary Groups Roundtable, and was also named in the Top 30 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders list by EMpower in 2017.

Commenting on her inclusion in the EMpower Future Leaders list, Carrie said:

“I am very proud to have been recognised and included on this list, representing the importance of maintaining diversity, ethnic or otherwise, within the workplace. The Bank is absolutely committed to diversity and inclusion and I hope to drive more conversations and initiatives on the subject in years to come.”

Warwick Long, Head of Commercial Banking, HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man:

“Carrie has so much experience in leadership and international banking and she is certainly an asset to our Guernsey team and Channel Islands and Isle of Man business. We are so pleased to see her achievements recognised in a prestigious list such as EMpower and look forward to continuing this upward trend towards increased diversity in the Bank.”
