First Central Group has confirmed a sponsorship of the Guernsey Football Association’s U15 and U16 teams.
The sponsorship will be for a year and will focus on the teams’ flights and kit.
The U15s and U16s teams are combined into one squad. This provides a joined-up approach between the two age groups, allowing for competitiveness in training playing against an older or younger age group.
Ross Allen, U15 and U16 Team Manager at the Guernsey Football Association, said: “This sponsorship will enable the players to travel off-island which will give them great memories and will be beneficial for their future footballing careers. The teams have been training hard and they show a lot of promise.
“We really value First Central’s support, three players in the U15 and U16 teams have gone on to achieve their dream of playing professionally and numerous others have progressed further in the local and representative pathway.”
John Davison, Chief Information Officer at First Central, said: “We’re pleased to be sponsoring the Guernsey Football Association’s U15 and U16 teams. We know how important personal development is outside of school, so sponsoring these footballers to compete on and off island in highly renowned competitions across the Channel Islands is something we’re proud to do.”
First Central previously sponsored the U15s and U16s in 2019.
