The 2024 Guernsey Design Awards is now open for entries.
Held every two years and sponsored by Norman Piette, the Guernsey Design Awards were developed to celebrate outstanding design in Guernsey’s built environment.
Supported by Norman Piette, The Guernsey Society of Architects and CIAT, the award categories include residential, commercial, heritage and small projects.
The judging panels have previously comprised representatives from architecture, construction, related industries and the arts.
Past winners include contemporary and heritage residential builds, developments, social housing, landscaping, interior schemes and public art.
Entries are limited to projects completed between 27th November 2021 (the day after qualification date for 2022 awards entries) and 27th November 2023, and Judges will reward projects that have fulfilled the original brief, reached the highest standards both functionally and aesthetically, and which fit harmoniously into the environment.
The winners, however, aren’t all chosen by the judges; Islanders are also given a chance to have their say, with the People’s Choice Award given to the entry with the highest number of public votes and the Mitch Sneddon Professionals’ Choice Award, which gives architects and professionals the opportunity to vote for their peers’ projects.
