As more people receive a COVID-19 vaccine the States of Guernsey are receiving questions from individuals who have received doses of vaccine from outside of the Bailiwick and are requesting a COVID-19 Status Certificate.
The following details the circumstances under which the States of Guernsey can issue a COVID-19 Status Certificate, and those that they cannot:
- At this time, vaccinations received outside of the Common Travel Area cannot be recognised for the purposes of issuing Guernsey proof of vaccination certificates, even where one of those doses was administered within the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
- Guernsey will issue proof of vaccination certificates to individuals who had their first dose within the Common Travel Area and their second dose in the Bailiwick of Guernsey (provided they submit the appropriate proof of their first dose).
- If both doses were received within the Common Travel Area but outside of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, then it is not possible or appropriate for Guernsey to issue a proof of vaccination certificate. The individual must directly contact the jurisdiction or organisation that administered their second vaccine to request proof of vaccination.
These rules will remain under review as more information is made available which means the States of Guernsey will be able to verify proof of vaccine from outside of the Common Travel Area.
