An IT company director from Guernsey is running the 2018 London Marathon for a charity that has supported his family after his wife was diagnosed with cancer.
With a £4,000 fundraising target, Next Generation IT boss Jason Connolly is taking on the feat in April in aid of the UK charity Penny Brohn. It provides support for every aspect of aperson’s life when they and their family are faced with cancer.
He said: “My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple years ago and Penny Brohn helped us through the ordeal. They offer comfort, support and advice to those most in need. I’m running to raise money for this worthwhile charity so they can help others through their journey.”
“It’s really helpful to meet up with other people going through the same experience to share in the ups and downs, and gain practical advice and support.”
Jason is taking on the challenge after previously completing the Jersey marathon in 2016 along with his colleague Richard Gibbons. They raised more than £1,200 for the Bright Tights cancer charity, which also supported his wife.
