The EY Careers and Skills Show, organised by Careers Guernsey, has been postponed and will be re-arranged for later this year.
Due to concerns about the current outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), a number of planned exhibitors have informed Careers Guernsey that they can no longer take part. As these organisations operate in multiple countries they must follow their global policy on coronavirus, which limits their ability to take part in public events at the moment. It is important to note that the current local advice from Guernsey’s Public Health Services remains that public events can continue as planned, however this is regularly reviewed.
Due to the key role exhibitors play in the EY Careers and Skills Show, the decision has been taken to postpone until later in 2020.
Ed Ashton, Director of Operations for Education, said:
“We are naturally disappointed, but we appreciate that many local organisations operate internationally and therefore have global policies on coronavirus that they must follow even if they differ from the local Public Health advice. We will work with our sponsors to re-arrange the event for later in the year.”
