Grant Thornton has shared their recent contribution to the local community by donating laptops to the Jersey Employment Trust and Age Concern Jersey.
This initiative reflects their commitment to supporting vital local community services and promoting environmental sustainability, as the laptops donated are refurbished models from Grant Thornton.
Sarah Anderton, Acorn Training and Development Team Leader, said: “We are thankful to Grant Thornton for the kind donation. These devices will be used for our Work Awareness courses, helping clients create email accounts, draft CVs, and perform other work-related tasks that are essential for their employment opportunities.”
Paul Simmonds, Age Concern Jersey Senior Manager, also added: “We appreciate Grant Thornton’s donation. These devices will allow us to offer start-up lessons for our members, helping them connect with the world of technology and access essential online services.”
IT Hardware Services (ITHSCI.com) prepared the Grant Thornton laptops for use, ensuring that other items were securely destroyed and recycled, maintaining an environmentally friendly process. Even the boxes used for the laptop presentation were reused.
ITHSCI said: “This highlights our commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
“We are pleased to have been involved in this initiative and thank the team at Grant Thornton for the opportunity to help make a difference in the community.”
Phil Ruelle, Technology & Digital Transformation Director at Grant Thornton said: “We are delighted to support local organisations like Jersey Employment Trust and Age Concern Jersey with these donated laptops. It’s a great way to enhance their IT resources whilst also contributing to environmental sustainability.”
