Grant Thornton have appointed Charisma Lyall as a director and head of the Regulatory Consulting team.
Based in Guernsey, Charisma (pictured) has over 11 years’ experience at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, most recently as General Counsel. During her time with the Commission, Charisma was responsible for the development and implementation of the new Financial Services Regulatory Laws as well as providing guidance and advice on all aspects of the Commission’s work including supervisory matters, financial crime issues, sanctions and enforcement.
Charisma is an accomplished regulatory specialist with almost two decades as a legal professional (currently non-practicing). She brings to Grant Thornton specialist expertise in Bailiwick financial services regulatory issues and policies as well as significant experience in delivering impactful strategic guidance and direction on complex issues.
Charisma’s extensive regulatory knowledge allows her to assist private sector clients with a range of services at every stage of the business lifecycle, including the Independent Audit Function for AML/CFT/CPT, application and change of control reviews, onsite-visit preparation and support, remediation design, implementation and reviews, and governance, risk and compliance reviews.
